Hoya cagayanensis Burton

This hoya comes from the Philippines and it was described in 1987. It has also been sold as CMF-8 (after Charles Marden Fitch), but the correct name should be Hoya cagayanensis.

This hoya seems best to be grown on a support since it's said to twine, but it looks like it could be grown hanging as well. It is very similar to camphorifolia when it comes to growth and also by appearance, but with the "difference" that cagayanensis has nicer foliage. The leaves are 4-6 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, quite thin and hard, with visible lighter veins. Very nice foliage!

The slightly reflexed flowers are about 1 cm in diameter with orange corolla and the corona is pink with darker centre. It is said to have a vague sweet smell. The flowers last about 4-5 days and you'll find 15-25 flowers in each umbel.
