I bought this
hoya as a rooted cutting in May 2002 from Botanova in northern Sweden. I
had read that the flowers were white and it was supposed to have a
really nice fragrance, so it was a hoya I just had to have in my
collection. It didn't grow much for the first year, but then it grew a
lot. I noticed the first small buds early in December 2004, but since it
was dark I didn't think the flowers would develop. But they did, quite a
lot of them too. The fragrance was very nice, but not as strong as I
thought it would be. After that first time it has bloomed with a lot of
flowers at the same time! With many flowers you notice the fresh
fragrance in the room... In May 2006 this hoya bloomed with a lot of
flowers and the fragrance was really nice and not too strong! |

I bought this
hoya under the name Hoya odorata, but there are those who think the
correct name should be Hoya cembra. To me it doesn't matter much, it's a
beautiful hoya!
