Hoya erythrostemma Kerr

This hoya comes from southern Thailand and Malaysia and it was described in 1939.

This is a rather slow growing hoya that can be grown either on a support (doesn't need the biggest one) or as a hanging plant. If grown on a suppor it needs help to stay on it.

The leaves are dark green, have lighter veins and some spots. They are 10-13 cm long and 3-5 cm wide. New leaves get nicely red from the sun!

The flowers have white reflexed and very hairy corollas and the coronas are dark red/burgundy. One flower is about 1 cm and you'll find 20-40 flowers in each umbel. The flowers last about a week, but I haven't found any info regarding fragrance...
