Hoya thailandica Thaithong

This hoya comes from Thailand, just as the name indicates and it was described in 2001. It's a rather new hoya and there seem to be a few different clones in circulation.

It seems to be a hoya that is best grown on a support. The leaves are light green with visible lighter veins, 5-7.5 cm long and 2.5-3 cm wide.

The flowers look rather big in comparison to the size of the leaves... The corolla is white and the corona is yellow and purple. Each flower is about 2 cm, flat with a tendency to cup shaped. You'll find 10-20 flowers in an umbel. The flowers are said to last almost two weeks and they produce no nectar. When looking at photos of just the flowers I think they look almost like the flowers of an Eriostemma... In one photo I thought of Hoya coronaria when I saw the flowers!
